Aloo Patta Gobhi Recipe

Aloo Patta Gobhi is the combination of healthy cabbage and some potatoes. Both are simply cooked in spices, onion and tomatoes. This recipe be made on daily basis as a great side dish, because it is healthy, tasty and best option with any dal recipe.Aloo Patta Gobhi

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium size cabbage finely sliced
  • 2 medium size potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 1-1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 small onions chopped
  • 2-3 small tomatoes chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • A pinch of dry mango powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

How to make Indian Cabbage and Potato:

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  2. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  3. Allow the seeds to splutter.
  4. Now add onions and ginger garlic paste.
  5. Fry till golden brown.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes ,turmeric powder and rest of the powdered spices.
  7. Season the dish with some salt.
  8. Mix well and cook till oil separates.
  9. Add diced potatoes and stir fry for few minutes.
  10. When the potatoes little bit tenders, then add chopped cabbage.
  11. Mix well, cover the pan and cook on low flame until the vegetables are done and water fully evaporates.
  12. Serve hot with Indian chapatis, puri or parathas.
